After some time of use the leather strings can become worn so that the black color is worn of.

If a sculpted jewelry not is used for a longer time the adjustable knots might get stuck. Pull the knot hard towards where the leather string is double and it will loosen.
Also the leather strings might get dry and hard. Use grease for leather and it will get smooth again.
